Meet Sammie Babbie, LMSW, CAADC
Dedicated to Healing, Growth, and Connection
I’m Ibtisam “Sammie” Babbie, LMSW, CAADC, a mental health specialist and therapist with over 25 years of experience. My journey in helping others began in Michigan, where I worked in various roles: in the school system serving culturally diverse students, in inpatient psychiatric wards, outpatient clinics, and residential and emergency mental health settings.
Each role has shaped my understanding that no two people heal the same way. I’ve seen how trauma, cultural background, faith, systemic stress, and personal history all influence mental health. That’s why I bring humility, compassion, and respect into all I do.
Therapy isn’t about giving you a “fix” — rather, it’s about walking beside you, giving you tools, creating a safe space where healing can happen. Here’s what that means in practice:
Individualized & Culturally Responsive
I tailor my methods to your background, values, culture, and life story.
Evidence-Based Methods
I draw from:
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Motivational Interviewing
• Family Systems Therapy
• Solution-Focused Therapy
Trauma-Informed & Empowerment Focused
Your safety, dignity, and voice are central. I believe healing means rediscovering your own power and resilience.
Integrated Care
Whether you need therapeutic counseling, coaching, or psychiatric support, I aim to integrate the right services for whole-person care.
